An intense display of colour fills the western sky as the last traces of daylight fade. The rocky foreground and glowing horizon create a striking coastal composition.

From the house I can see Abbey Hill in the far distance which is really handy for those 'after burner' sunsets as I can usually tell, from the shape and height of clouds in the sky, if it could turn to be one of those sunsets to remember along the coastline, a short distance from the hills. In mid September the sun still sets slowly and reasonably late, and so I get in the car, drive to Flaggy Shore, set the tripod, then wait for the magic to happen (or not!)

Print sizes & cropping
Available from A4 to A1 and in uncropped photographic formats from 12 × 18in to 24 × 36in. ISO formats may crop the natural 2:3 image ratio at larger sizes; choose an inches size when you prefer the complete composition.

If the image suits I may also use the Canson Arches BFK Rives Pure White to bring out the whites and increase contrast with this fabulous, slightly textured matt gallery paper.
